What a treat this episode was to make! We were joined by Jeremiah Good of LaughingPlace.com, actor Robbie Pigott, and former Walt Disney Imagineer C. McNair Wilson to discuss one of Disney’s first real immersive entertainment experiences – Adventurers Club!
For those who aren’t aware, Disney launched several nightclubs in Pleasure Island, part of what is now Disney Springs. One of these was Adventurers Club, a wild place where visitors were brought back to the 1930’s and regaled by an evening of songs, stories and improvisational theater. The club was open from 1989 to 2008 and is still beloved to this day.
McNair Wilson was involved in the creation of Adventurers Club. Robbie played a number of roles in the show. Jeremiah was a fan and gave us a great perspective of what being an audience member was like.
