Martin was just a regular kid until that fateful day in 1977 that he saw Star Wars for the first time. From the moment R2-D2 and C-3PO appeared onscreen, Martin’s passion for film was ignited with the intensity of the Death Star’s main reactor! Besides being a fan of the films, Martin was (and remains to this day) an avid collector of Star Wars toys. Be careful to never ask Martin to explain some obscure factoid about the Star Wars universe or toys, as he will thrillingly discuss the topic with you for days. Literally DAYS. Besides Star Wars, some of Martin’s other favorite films are Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Superman (1978), Aliens and Die Hard. Martin had the amazing good fortune to marry his best friend (and co-host of this podcast) Kristine, with whom he has spent the past 30 years traveling the world, going to pop culture conventions, exploring theme parks and having new adventures every month.
Meet My Character: Jorg Sacul
Galaxy-famous holovid director Jorg Sacul came from humble beginnings before finding legendary fame and fortune. Hailing from the uncharted planet of Modeston in Wild Space, Jorg discovered early on that he had a talent and burning desire for both speeder racing and making adventure vids for broadcast on the Galactic HoloNet.
A chance encounter with some real-life Rebel Alliance heroes on Tatooine gave Jorg the idea to create vids telling the epic story of their galaxy-changing exploits. Far too busy either saving the universe (or trying to enslave it) to star in this holovid series as themselves, Jorg cast relative unknowns to portray the various heroic and villainous beings in this “based on actual events” saga, rocketing these new stars to incredible fame and fortune themselves.
The unprecedented success of this beloved holovid series has made Jorg a number of powerful allies and enemies across the galaxy. Through it all, Jorg keeps a laser-focus on his constant goal: how to make the next episode of the series even more exciting than the last…even if that means some dubious actions and questionable partnerships to motivate events to an exciting conclusion. After all, anything can happen after director Jorg Sacul calls…for “ACTION!”
